Wildlife – Birds. Black redstart (Phoenicurus ochrurus) breeds on rocky slopes, upland villages and cities. They are mostly found at high altitudes, but in winter they descend to the seashore. They are seen throughout the year in some high areas in Central, Southern and Western Europe, Western and Southwestern Anatolia, and Northwestern Africa.
