Provably Fair

When you open the game page, the server generates a secret and a seed and reveals their hash (using the HMAC SHA256 algorithm). The server secret represents a random number — the initial roll. The server seed is a cryptographically secure random alphanumeric string. The hash of these two strings ensures that the initial roll cannot be altered after you place a bet. After the game is finished, the server secret and server seed are revealed so you can recalculate and verify the hash yourself.

During gameplay, you can optionally provide a custom client seed (if it is not specified, a random value is automatically generated by your browser). The server then calculates another hash using the server secret, server seed and client seed. The last 5 characters of this hash (a hexadecimal value) are converted to an integer, which is used to adjust the initial roll. Because the client seed cannot be predicted by the server, this adjustment is completely random, so you can be confident that the game result is provably fair.

To verify that a game you played was fair, go to History >> My games, select the game and click the Verify button.
